Techny Prairie Activity Center (TPAC) in Northbrook will welcome members and their guests to enjoy free treats, fun classes and cool giveaways during Member Appreciation Week.

The event is all about expressing gratitude for those who choose TPAC as their fitness home base, said Northbrook Park District Fitness Supervisor Julie Lappas. “It’s always enjoyable to have some fun at TPAC and offer something new and exciting to the members,” she said.

Member Appreciation Week takes place Monday, November 6 through Saturday, November 11, when members can bring in guests for free, no guest passes needed. Free giveaways will include beanie hats, pom-pom hats, spoon mugs and possibly more.

The special line up of events is as follows, with all classes taught by TPAC instructors:

Tuesday, November 7 • Coffee Bar
Featuring Barre and Bubbles from 4:30-5:20pm with a sparkling water post-workout

Wednesday, November 8 • Apple Cider & Pie
Featuring Gratitude Yoga from 6-7pm

Thursday, November 9 • Tea Tasting
Featuring Boxing and Brunch from 9:30-10:15am followed by brunch |  Member Registration Required

Friday, November 10 • Fresh Fruit Friday
Featuring demonstrations and samples from OVME, a local medical aesthetics boutique

The classes were chosen to give people a sampling of all that TPAC offers, Lappas said. “Barre is about strength, and yoga is about mind-body connection. We thought that was a nice tie-in just before the holidays, when things get hectic,” she said. “The boxing class is guaranteed to make you sweat and release some stress! One of the new programs we are offering is a Rumble boxing class, so we hope people will come check out this new option during Member Appreciation Week.”

TPAC hosted a pop-up event a couple of months ago featuring another local wellness boutique, and it was very well-received, Lappas added.

TPAC Manager Shawn Bernaky said staff always seeks feedback from members to keep improving TPAC to fit their needs. “Our members keep our facility great and full of life,” he said, “and nothing makes us happier than putting a smile on their faces.”
